We offer scanning, retouching, and printing services. Whether you are an artist who would like prints made of your work, or you have old and faded family photographs that you would like to share with friends and family, we are your local resource.
How it works:
You bring us your art, we take it to our scanning studio where we image your piece. Tools are used to ensure color accuracy and we make skilled adjustments to ensure it looks its best. We can restore the color on most heavily faded photographs and retouch even major tears and scratches. Retouching is a detailed art form that we are proud to say is always performed by a human. For original art, we ensure the reproductions are color matched to the original and can make edits if needed.
You will always get your original images returned to you!
You will receive digital files of the original scans and additional files with the retouches. Prints are available that we individually check for quality and color accuracy.
We do not scan movie film of any format but we offer high quality VHS transfers and de-interlacing processing along with audio transfers from ¼" reel to reel tape, cassettes, and records. Please inquire about other formats. We can not scan, transfer, or print copyrighted work unless you own the copyright or right to reprint.
Scanning
We can scan:
Photographs, Negatives, Tintypes, Drawings, Watercolors, Canvases, Prints, Etc…
Art can be flatbed scanned or camera scanned depending on the piece. Both offer excellent color reproduction with different benefits. Flatbed is less expensive but limited to smaller pieces. Camera scanning is available for larger pieces and those with unique characteristics such as paint texture on a canvas, or metallic ink.
By default, most images are scanned with enough resolution to double the size. Let us know if you intend to enlarge it significantly and we’ll be sure to account for that when scanning. Depending on the piece, this may cost extra.
Silvering in Photographs
Older photographs often exhibit a sign of aging called silvering where a shimmery haze obscures the view. The photographs can be camera scanned to render the haze invisible in all but extreme cases.
Color and Black & White Negative Film
Film scans are available for 35mm, 120 medium format, and 4x5. We can accommodate many other formats as well.
For medium format film and larger we offer High Res Scans, Super Scans, and Max scans for when even greater resolution is required for extra large prints.

Retouching
Photo Retouching
Photo retouching is individually priced based on the severity of the damage and the skill level required to retouch each piece. An estimate is given for the likely range that it may cost to fix the issues discussed. The low end of that estimate range is due upfront before any retouching is started. If retouching were to exceed the high end of the agreed upon range, I will contact you to discuss options before proceeding.
Typical issues to be retouched:
• faded colors and yellowed paper
• lightening overly dark elements and darkening overly light elements of the image
• removing dust spots, aging dots, scratches and scuffs
• tears, stains, filling in image along tattered edges
• damage that goes across a detailed subject such as a face or filling in chunks of missing image
• high quality de-screening of photographs scanned from a newspaper or other screen prints

Art Edits
We can make edits to your art if needed, for example creating a clean white background around an illustration, removing paper texture and pencil marks from the white areas. This is particularly common when reprinting on watercolor paper.
Photographic Prints & Fine Art Giclée Prints
We work with our trusted print labs to guarantee the best quality and accuracy in your prints.
Photographic Prints
We can make traditional chemical photographic prints in sizes from 2½ x 3½ up to 30 x 45+.
Photographic Prints are available on three papers.
Photographic Prints are available on three papers.
• Lustre • Deep Matte • Pearl
These papers are acid free and have a lifetime well over 100 years. Ask to see samples of these papers.
Giclée Prints
Giclée prints are on archival acid free paper and printed with archival pigment based inks. These prints have an expected lifetime of much longer than 100 years. Ask to see samples of what paper stocks are available.
Lustre Ink Prints
These prints are similar in look to traditional Lustre photographic prints but are printed with archival inks on archival paper. These prints have a lifetime of about 100 years. If you need a quick turnaround time, this is your best option.
